Как жить как команда в  гостях!

Сегодня вечером состоится крупнейшее спортивное событие в США!

• Суперкубок соберет более 100 миллионов зрителей.
• Две команды, одна будет играть на своем домашнем/местном поле…
• В 2020 году я был на игре НФЛ в Индианаполисе, и моя команда была приглашенной командой…

Как последователи Иисуса Христа, мы больше «НЕ домашняя\ НЕ местная команда» в США!

• У нас есть «преимущество домашнего поля» в США на протяжении 200 лет.
• когда то, Иудео-христианские принципы были основопологающими в США. Были Американским культурным контекстом.
• В значительной степени эти приципы исчезли из общей культуры седняшнего общества.
• Согласно Писанию, мы ДОЛЖНЫ помнить свое место в этом мире!

> Этот мир НЕ дружелюбен к Иисусу или Его последователям!

Евангелие от Иоанна 15:18-19

18 Если мир вас ненавидит, знайте, что Меня прежде вас возненавидел.

19 Если бы вы были от мира, то мир любил бы свое; а как вы не от мира, но Я избрал вас от мира, потому ненавидит вас мир.

> Этот мир временное место!

2-е Послание к  Коринфянам 4:18

когда мы смотрим не на видимое, но на невидимое, ибо видимое временно; а невидимое вечно.

> Как верующие мы граждане другой, постоянной страны!

Послание к Филиппийцам 3:20-21

20 Наше же жительство – на небесах, откуда мы ожидаем и Спасителя, Господа нашего Иисуса Христа,

21 Который уничиженное тело наше преобразит так, что оно будет сообразно славному телу Его, силою, которою Он действует и покоряет Себе все.

> На данный момент воля Божья состоит в том, чтобы мы максимально использовали эту временную ситуацию!

Петр рассказывает нам, как жить в составе группы гостей… 1-е Послание Петра 1:1 «Петр, Апостол Иисуса Христа, пришельцам, рассеянным в Понте, Галатии, Каппадокии, Асии и Вифинии»,

• Петр теперь пожилой, духовно зрелый руководитель в Церкви, возможно, в Риме.
• Он пишет группе «инопланетян/изгнанников/незнакомцев», проживающих в современной Турции.
• Все это послание сосредоточено на том, как жить в этом трудном временном месте.
• Сегодня мы сосредоточимся на четырех основных пунктах 1-го Послания Петра, но я призываю вас найти время, чтобы прочитать все пять глав на следующей неделе!

Чтобы жить «командой в гостях», надо помнить…

I. Кто вы такие.

1-е Послание Петра 2:9

Но вы – род избранный, царственное священство, народ святой, люди, взятые в удел, дабы возвещать совершенства Призвавшего вас из тьмы в чудный Свой свет.

1. Вы избраны! Исход 19:6 «а вы будете у Меня царством священников и народом святым; вот слова, которые ты скажешь сынам Израилевым».
2. Вы правящий священник с Иисусом в его Царстве! Откровение 1:6. «и соделавшему нас царями и священниками Богу и Отцу Своему, слава и держава во веки веков, аминь”.
3. Вы святы, отделены для праведности!
4. Вы принадлежите Богу!

II. Куда вы направляетесь.

1-е Послание Петра 1:3-5

3. Благословен Бог и Отец Господа нашего Иисуса Христа, по великой Своей милости возродивший нас воскресением Иисуса Христа из мертвых к упованию живому,

4. к наследству нетленному, чистому, неувядаемому, хранящемуся на небесах для вас,

5. силою Божиею через веру соблюдаемых ко спасению, готовому открыться в последнее время.

1. У вас есть живая надежда, основанная на воскресении Иисуса! Евангелие от Иоанна 11:25 «Иисус сказал ей: Я есмь воскресение и жизнь: верующий в Меня, если и умрет, оживет».
2. Вы имеете нетленное наследство! Откровение 22:5 «И ночи не будет там, и не будут иметь нужды ни в светильнике, ни в свете солнечном, ибо Господь Бог освещает их; и будут царствовать во веки веков».
3. В конце концов вы будете спасены!

III. Почему вы здесь.

1-е Послание Петра 2:9б

…дабы возвещать совершенства Призвавшего вас из тьмы в чудный Свой свет

1-е Послание Петра 3:15

Господа Бога святите в сердцах ваших; будьте всегда готовы всякому, требующему у вас отчета в вашем уповании, дать ответ с кротостью и благоговением

1. Ваша жизнь должна провозглашать превосходство и славу Божью! (полностью рассказать/показать добродетель/непревзойденную доброту Бога)
2. Вы здесь, чтобы объяснить смысл, засвидетельствовать, поделиться Евангелием.

IV. Как вы должны жить.

1-е Послание Петра 1:13

Посему, (возлюбленные), препоясав чресла ума вашего, бодрствуя, совершенно уповайте на подаваемую вам благодать в явлении Иисуса Христа

1. Вы должны жить, руководствуясь ясной божественной директивой. Послание к Колоссянам 3:2 «о горнем помышляйте, а не о земном».
2. Вы не должны слиться с этим миром. 1-е Послание Петра 1:14 «Как послушные дети, не сообразуйтесь с прежними похотями, бывшими в неведении вашем». Послание к Римлянам 12:2 «и не сообразуйтесь с веком сим, но преобразуйтесь обновлением ума вашего, чтобы вам познавать, что есть воля Божия, благая, угодная и совершенная».
3. Вы должны жить иначе, чем в мире… будьте святы! 1-е Послание Петра 1: 15 «но, по примеру призвавшего вас Святаго, и сами будьте святы во всех поступках».

Сейчас нам больше, чем когда-либо, нужно быть той Церковью, которой  призывает нас быть Господь…

• преданный оазис божественной любви!

1-е Послание Петра 4:7-11

7. Впрочем близок всему конец. Итак будьте благоразумны и бодрствуйте в молитвах.

8. Более же всего имейте усердную любовь друг ко другу, потому что любовь покрывает множество грехов.

9. Будьте страннолюбивы друг ко другу без ропота.

10. Служите друг другу, каждый тем даром, какой получил, как добрые домостроители многоразличной благодати Божией.

11. Говорит ли кто, говори как слова Божии; служит ли кто, служи по силе, какую дает Бог, дабы вовсем прославлялся Бог через Иисуса Христа, Которому слава и держава во веки веков. Аминь.

How To Live As The Visiting Team!

The biggest sports event in the USA is occurring this evening! 

• The Super Bowl will attract over 100 million viewers.
• Two teams, one will be the home team…
• In 2020, I went to an NFL game in Indianapolis and my team was the visiting team…

As followers of Jesus Christ, we are NOT the “home team” in the USA anymore! 

• We have had “home field advantage” in the USA for 200 years.
• Judeo-Christian principles were our cultural context.
• That has largely disappeared in common culture.
• According to Scripture, we MUST remember our place in this world!

            > This world is NOT friendly to Jesus or His followers!

John 15:18-19 

If the world hate you, ye know that it hated me before it hated you. If ye were of the world, the world would love his own: but because ye are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

> This world is a temporary place!

II Cor. 4:18

while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

> As believers, we are citizens of another, permanent country!

Phil. 3:20-21

For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ: who shall change our vile body, that it may be fashioned like unto his glorious body, according to the working whereby he is able even to subdue all things unto himself.

> For now, God’s will is for us to make the most of this temporary situation!

Peter tells us how to live as the visiting team…

I Peter 1:1

Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

• Peter is now an older, spiritually mature leader in the Church, possibly in Rome.
• He is writing to a group of “aliens/exiles/strangers” living in modern day Turkey.
• This entire epistle is focused on how to live in that difficult, temporary place.
• Today, we will focus on four primary points of I Peter, but I encourage you to take the time to read through all five chapters in the next week!

In order to live as the “visiting team” you must remember…

I. Who You Are.

I Peter 2:9  

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

1. You are chosen! Exodus 19:6 “and ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.” 
2. You are a ruling priest with Jesus in his Kingdom! Revelation 1:6. “and hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”
3. You are holy, set apart to righteousness!
4. You are God’s own possession!

II. Where You’re Headed.

I Peter 1:3-5 

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

1. You have a living hope based on Jesus’ resurrection!  John 11:25   “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live:”
2. You have an imperishable inheritance!  Revelation 22:5  “And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.”
3. You will ultimately be saved!

III. Why You’re Here.

I Peter 2:9b

…that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

I Peter 3:15

but sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:

1. Your life is to proclaim the excellencies, glory of God! (fully tell/show forth the virtue/intrinsic goodness of God)
2. You are here to give a reason, to witness, to share the Gospel.

IV. How You Should Live.

I Peter 1:13

Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

1. You are to live based on a clear, divine perspective. Colossians 3:2  “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.”
2. You are to avoid being conformed to this world system.  I Peter 1:14 “as obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:”  Romans 12:2 “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
3. You are to live in a manner that’s different from the world… be holy!  I Peter:15 “but as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;”

More than at any time, we now need to be the Church God calls us to be…

• a committed oasis of divine love!

I Peter 4:7-11   

“But the end of all things is at hand: be ye therefore sober, and watch unto prayer. And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins. Use hospitality one to another without grudging. As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”
